On a farm in Waterton

While visiting the Waterton area in 2022, I camped on this farm just outside the park. The owner, Renny, was an older gentlemen who grew up as a cowboy in rural British Columbia. He told me stories of his younger years in endurance horse racing across mountains and plains in western Canada. We talked for hours and he was astonished to hear how I, a kid from the far out land of Ohio, made my way to his place. As the sun set over the golden plains, I played with Jax, the farm dog. The last morning, on my way out, he invited his neighbors to come and meet me and he took me for a short ride in his 57' Chevy pickup. I packed up my car but on the way out he told me to come back anytime I wanted, that I will always have a place to stay out there. I hope that Renny is doing well and that I get out there again soon.
